Solid down-to-earth “a la mamma” cuisine in a no-frills setting - harking back to its roots as a stand-up pizza shop, La Traviata sports neither tablecloths nor trinkets, - yet, for many, offers the best pizza in town - fine, crispy crusts, juicy cheese and top quality extras. Pasta, fish or meat dishes, fear nought, are all Serie A quality and few places in Frankfurt offer an equal amusement factor when it comes to soccer and a good, fair priced meal.
Proprietor Rocco Brandi is a die-hard Juventus Turin fan and directs his squadra like Del Pierro. And, even during the most dearing counter attack by Zambrotta and Trezeguet the kitchen staff manage to keep one eye on the ball, the other on the olives or peperoni. Wines are fine and service is relaxed and friendly. Everyone is welcome – no catenaccio here - unless perhaps, if you are from AC Milano!
The wintergarten is good alternative in winter and in summer the small terrace invites to watch the comings and goings along the lively Textorstrasse.
