Weidemann restaurant in Frankfurt
|
The new Weidemann - a quarter century of excellence!
The Weidemann is, since almost three decades, a standard reference in Frankfurt and the Rhein-Main region when the talk is of top exclusive gastronomy.
The highly acclaimed and tradition-rich Weidemann resides in a picturesque 19th century half-timbered farmhouse a mere 8 to 12 minutes taxi ride from the exhibition grounds, the main train station or the financial district. Even access from the airport – in case one has a couple of hours transit time to kill - is very uncomplicated and relatively quick.

In early 2007 the most recent refurbishment of the restaurant took place and while maintaining the cosiness and comfort of a warm country house, hues of pastel colours and light effects have introduced a pleasant subdued modern twist.
The soul of the restaurant is its proprietor - the always jovial and charming Angel Vega, a native of Fermoselle in the Spanish Zamora province. It is, on the one hand, Angel’s friendly and pleasant nature coupled with high professionalism that make guests always feel at home and return to this wonderful place – and make waiting staff remain for decades and decades. On the other hand – and decisively - it is the wonderful innovative Mediterranean cuisine incorporating elements of French, Italian and Spanish culinary-culture harmoniously orchestrated by Carmelo Deiana which provoke all the oh’s and ah’s. Neapolitan Carmelo, a graduate of the reputed Instituto Mario Pagano, perfected his cooking skills in some of Europe’s “hottest” kitchens, among others in Witzigmann’s Aubergine in Munich or Ferran Adrià’s El Bulli on Spain’s Costa Brava. Some of Weidemann’s new highlights like the „Scallops on peanuts-ice“ or the „St.Peter’s fish on chestnuts-sauce with Pata-Negra ham“ carry his signature.
The wine cellar must belong the “richest” in the region – and that not only because of the Vega Sicilia’s ! - and then, there is Angel’s immense Grappa collection.
The layout of the Weidemann permits very flexible arrangements for groups up to 80 seated guests, allowing - weather permitting – incorporation of the heated winter-garten or the wonderful garden with old chestnut trees.
