The amiable Stefanos Kirianakis took over the Alexis Zorbas 22 years ago while still a student of Geology. In the meantime this restaurant has become an institution for Greek cuisine and is, on weekdays, very popular with the young professional crowd working in the Niederrad business area. On weekends the place fills with horse racing fans who walk over from the nearby race course.
Polite and skilled personnel, traditional fare with a daily offer of fresh fish and high quality ingredients compose an immaculate and vast menu. The grilled octopus as appetizer and the various lamb creations are just a couple of the highlights of the Zorbas.
Having passed through the winter garden you enter the warm and comfortable wood-panelled dining area which together with the unobtrusive Greek background music offers a relaxing and entertaining atmosphere for a fine meal.
