Borussia restaurant in Frankfurt
|
This is a real insider tip and definitely worth a visit. Situated on the south margin of the river Main, overlooking the old market hall (the future premises of the European Central Bank) and the impressive Frankfurt skyline the Borussia offers, removed from the hubhub of midtown, a very relaxed and pictoresque setting for fine dining. |

The food harmonises with the premises and the surroundings– sophisticated local cuisine and terrific fish and seafood dishes. The interior, a little rustic, a combination of traditional apple-cider tavern and that typical young flair common of German “scene-locations”. The large garden overlooking the river, with it’s old trees, the teak and wrought-iron furniture, reminescent of a Renoir setting.
The Frankfurt cuisine offered at the Borussia has a touch of “finesse” and all those delicious water creatures are served in the Italian, Mediterranean or “cross-over” style - the freshness and quality of products greatly enhanced by the creativity of the kitchen team. First course choices vary from the notorious “Handkäse” to “Fine de Claire” oysters. Among the main courses, the famous Frankfurter “Grüne Sosse” or variations of pike-perch. Fantastic the Gourmet salad with prawns and fish medaillons. A small pasta menu and a varied selection of meat dishes round up the offer. Apple-wine, beer and the wine offered ideally complement the type of cuisine.
The Borussia is also known for its seasonal specialities, lunch or 3-course dinner menus and its group arrangements. Be it for a dinner-for-two or a larger group this place is unique. Good food, nice crowd and a superb view. Definitely worth the way!
